Wilton Eugene Murphy

Wilton Eugene Murphy, Sr., age 88, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015 in Fort Lauderdale. Born December 29, 1926 in Bartow he was the son of the late Jessie Sherman and Irene (Allen) Murphy. Mr. Murphy was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was also a citrus grower in the Alturas area for many years. Mr. Murphy is preceded in death by his wife Betty Murphy in 2008. He is survived by his three children: Bonnie Ford (Billy) of Fort Lauderdale, James Murphy (Helen) of Columbia, SC, Wilton Eugene Murphy, Jr. of Matlacha, FL, four grandchildren: Justin, Jenna, Christi, Melissa, and two great grandchildren: David and Abigail. Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 9th at 10:00am at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow.
