Bartow- William A. "Billy" Wilson, 91, of Bartow, died Sun, April 22, 2007, at his residence in Bartow. Mr. Wilson was born March 23, 1916 in Sarasota with his twin sister, Betty to A.E & Mary Alice Wilson, a pioneer family. Raised in Boyette, he attended Brandon High School. A WW War II army veteran, serving 3 years in the Sixth Army Division tank divison Germany during the Battle of the Bulge. He retired after 17 yrs with U.S. Phosphoric,, Gibsonton. Billy married Mary Sumner Wilson in 1970 and both ran a cattle ranch in Hillsborough, Hardee & DeSoto counties. He loved his cows, dogs & horses. He loved music, playing a lovely guitar & teaching many to play. He was a member of the DeSoto Masonic Lodge #105 in Riverview & the Blue Lodge. He was a resident of Bartow since 2002. He is survived by his wife: Mary Sumner Wilson, Bartow; 2 sons: Dale E. Wilson & wife Judith of Avon Park; Ronald G. Wilson & wife Sherri of Charleston, S.C.

Collins & husband Lamar of Bartow; Etwenda Wade & husband Tim of Washington, Ga; 3 sisters: Betty Evers of Lithia; Opal Benson of Winter Park; Dorothy Gunn and Husband Bob of Brandon; 14 Grandchildren & 7 Great Grandchildren. Family will receive friends Wed, April 25, from 6-8 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 E. Main St, Bartow, Services will be held 11:00 am Thursday at the funeral home.
