William W. Paul

Bartow- William Whalen "Bill" Paul, 93, of Bartow, previously of Newton, MA, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2012. Beloved husband of Mary DeStefano Cahill Paul, father of Robert of Alexandria, VA, William (Jean) of Waltham, MA, and Marie Nader (Michael) of Shirley, MA, stepfather to James (Suzanne) Cahill, grandfather of six, step grandfather to one, and great grandfather to six, all of MA. He was predeceased by his parents Alice Coffey and Francis Paul and a stepdaughter, Susan Cahill. He graduated from Boston English HS, class of 1936; attended Burdett Business School; was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps and a lifelong member of the BPOE. He was a comptroller. During retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, satisfying many curiosities, volunteering in many capacities at Floral Lakes Senior Community and Saint Thomas Aquinas Parish, and mediating with the Polk County Court system. His family and friends will miss his keen sense of humor, interest in politics, and love of adventure. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, Feb. 16, at 10:30 am at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 2180 S. Kissingen Ave, Bartow. All are cordially invited. Burial will be at a later date.
