William J. Maxwell, Sr.

Lakeland - William J. Maxwell, Sr., age 82, passed away on December 24, 2024, at Lakeland Hospice House in Lakeland. He was born on July 7, 1942, in Washington, DC. He worked as a Mechanic for the Polk County School Board. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife Patsy Maxwell and sister Donna Tivener. He is survived by his daughter Sabra Myers (Bob) of Lakeland, sons William "Billy" Maxwell, Jr. (Jennifer) of Lakeland, Darin Maxwell of Mulberry & Scott Maxwell of Bartow, sisters Louise Martin of Belpre, OH, Carol Maxwell Heifling (Larry) of Nebraska & Sandra Norris (Jerry) of Belpre, OH, brothers Glenn Martin (Debbie) of Mineral Wells, WV & Kevin Maxwell of Akron, OH, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Burial Park, Lakeland.
