William Lloyd Girtman

William “Bill” Lloyd Girtman, age 82, passed away on July 19, 2026. He was born on October 12, 1943, and was a lifelong resident of Polk County, Florida.

Bill Girtman attended The Citadel in South Carolina (1961-65) and served in the Army National Guard of Florida (1965-71). He worked in finance for the majority of his career and served for more than twenty years as Chief Financial Officer of W.S. Badcock Corporation. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and enjoyed hunting and other outdoor activities. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carolynn Johnson Girtman and Lloyd Girtman.

He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Girtman, April Ainsworth, and Susan Rogers; his grandchildren Hunter Morris, Ava Ainsworth, and Eila Ainsworth; his brother, Ben Girtman, and sister-in-law, Laura Girtman; his nieces, Kimberly Harvard and Jane Nelson; and his nephew, David Girtman; and his former wife, Iva Hauck Girtman.

Family will receive friends Friday, July 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral service will be held Friday, July 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow.
