William "Bill" Gaines

William "Bill" D. Gaines, 83, passed away December 25, 2012 in Winter Park, FL. William was born July 15, 1929 in Cincinnati, OH. He served in the US Navy during the Korean war. He was a resident of Lake Mary since August 2011 moving from Lakeland where he had resided since 1973. He worked for Standard Petroleum & Fleetwing Corp. as a Plant Manager for 20 years. He also Owned/Operated Blue Grass Billard Co. in Paris, KY for 15 years before moving to Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Price Gaines. Mr. Gaines is survivied:by his Son; Keith Gaines of Lakeland, FL. Two Daughters; Charlotte Bates of Oneida, TN and Karen Gaines of Sanford, FL. Four Grandchildren and Three Great Grandchildren. The family will recieve friends from1 to 2 pm on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. The service will follow at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street in Bartow. In lieu of flowers contributions made to: American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Association or VITAS Hospice. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Burial Park in Lakeland, FL.
