William D. "Bill" Helmuth

William D. "Bill" Helmuth, 82, died Sunday, February 1, 2009, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale of complications of Parkinson's disease. Born January 21, 1927 in Claxton, Ga, Mr. Helmuth was a resident of Bartow 53 yrs, moving from Lakeland Mr. Helmuth was employed with Publix Supermarkets for over 42 yrs, including store manager of the Bartow Publix Supermarket for 37 yrs. He was a member and trustee of the McLeod Memorial Presbyterian Church, Bartow. He was past chariman of the City of Bartow Zoning board; member Bartow Lions Club; the Bartow Camera Club & an avid gardner. He is preceded in death by his wife: Agnes Helmuth & son: W.D."Dub" Helmuth. He is survived by his daughters: Nancy & husband Larry Mooneyham of Lakeland & Susie Helmuth of Bartow; step sons: Johnny & wife Betty Sutton of Morrow, Ga & Michael & wife Shirley Sutton of Stockbridge, Ga; sisters: Ida Frances Anderson of Statesboro, Ga & Lyndol Anderson of Walthourville, Ga ; 7 grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb 3, 6-8 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Wednesday Feb 4, at 11:00 pm at the McLeod Memorial Presbyterian Church 695 West Stuart Bartow.
