William (Billy) Whitaker, Jr.

Bartow-William(Billy) Whitaker Jr of Bartow passed away in Winter Haven, FL on August 06 2024 at the age of 70. Born in San Diego California and graduated from Bartow High School where he played baseball. He started his career as a crane operator for CF Industries and went on to later work for Publix ,Eaglebrooke golf course and Sonny’s BBQ. He was a member of Word of Life Christian Center. Some of his favorite past times were playing golf, bowling, and he loved watching sports. His favorite team was the Florida Gators. He also loved leading the Bible study at the Rohr Home and Astoria. He never met a stranger and loved to make people laugh with his quick wit. He is preceded in death by his father William F Whitaker,SR. He is survived by a loving family including his mother Sandra(Gwen) Whitaker, daughter Melissa Rogers(Terrance),step daughter Elizabeth Cartagena(Alex), sisters Jenny Gibson(Dub), Judy Huguenard(Bob),grandchildren Zoey Cartagena,Zy’Terria Rogers, Jada Rogers and many nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life will be Saturday August 10 2024 at 2pm at Word of Life Christian Center in Bartow FL.
