Wilbur "Ray" Helms

Wilbur "Ray" Helms, age 75, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025. He was born September 2, 1949 in Bartow, FL to Barney & Juddie Helms, Ray was a veteran in the US Army. He coached Little League baseball and touched many lives during his time on the diamond. He was a retired Production Supervisor for Mosaic for over 40 years. He was of the Baptist faith. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bertha Helms, son Billy Helms, siblings Doris Tucker, Betty Meyer, Robert Helms and Mack Helms. He is survived by his son Wally Ray Helms & wife Wendy of Wauchula, two daughters Leta Short & husband Russell of Winter Haven and Cindy Richman & husband Rob of Palm Bay, daughter in-law Carole Helms, and brother Rex Helms & wife Diane of Fort Meade, thirteen grandchildren Austin, Leigh-Anne, Tyler, Cody, Destiny, Adina, Brock, Moriah, Lacey Marie, Kaila, Hope, Lacey & Lindy and 15 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Saturday, March 1, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Bowling Green, 4531 US Hwy 17 North in Bowling Green, FL. A Celebration of Ray's Life will follow at 11:00 am Saturday, March 1, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Bowling Green. In lieu of flowers send donations to Fort Meade Little League Sports, P.O.
