Waymon Nason

Highland City - Waymon Nason, 87, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center of respiratory failure. Born February 21, 1927 in Scanlon, FL, Mr. Nason was a longtime resident of Highland City. He was a maintenance mechanic for W.R. Grace Phosphate for many years. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He attended the First Baptist Church of Highland City and was a past member of the Winter Haven Moose Lodge. Mr. Nason was preceded in death by his wife, Helen LeJune Nason and son, Perry Wayne Nason. He is survived by two sons: Robert L. Nason, Winter Haven and Bruce Nason (Cheryl), Highland City; three daughters: Connie L Akins [Randy], Highland City; Jean Siggers (Lynn), Alabama & Gail Nason, Fort Myers; sister: June Davidson [Bobby], Meridian, MS; 12 grandchildren, & 7 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Monday, April 21, 2014 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Oak Hill Burial Park, Lakeland.
