Walter S. Godwin

Bartow - Walter S. Godwin, 81, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020. Mr Godwin was born September 29, 1938 in Geneva, AL. He was a Veteran in the US Army. He was a Mechanic for Florida's Natural Growers. He was a member of Thrive Church in Winter Haven. He coached baseball to many of the young men in the area for many many years. He enjoyed competing in the Senior games and won gold medals for the last 3 years in 8-ball & 9-ball pool. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Bylvia Jean Godwin, two sons; (Walter) Tiger Godwin & wife Angie and Billy Godwin & wife Heather, daughter; Melissa and Ryan Pressnell (sister; Mary Berryman & husband Chip, six grandchildren; Tiger Godwin & wife Nicky, Hunter Godwin & wife Kristin, Charyl Gann, Cheyenne Plummer & husband Logan, Brady Godwin, Riley Godwin and eight great great-grandchildren; Savannah, Marcus, Adalynn, ELaynah, Jada, Jackson, Isaiah, Kinsleigh. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 am Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Thrive Church, 651 Carl Floyd Road in Winter Haven, following the service a Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm at Mary Holland Park in Bartow, FL.
