W. Upton Grace

Mr. William Upton Grace, age 88, died Monday, November 24, 2008, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Born June 16, 1920 in Samson, AL, Mr. Grace has been a resident of Mulberry 32 years, moving from Alturas. Mr. Grace was a citrus caretaker for Albritton Citrus of Alturas for 26 years. He also worked for the County of Polk for 24 years. He was a Deacon at the Southside Baptist Church of Mulberry. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mary T. Grace. He is survived by three sons: Bill Grace & wife Debbie of Ethridge, TN; Larry Grace & wife Toni of Bartow & Tommy Grace & wife Jeanette of Bartow. Three daughters: Margaret Smith & husband John Allen of Bartow; Charlotte Brown of Mulberry; Joyce Hall & husband Robert of Canton, NC; one brother: Abe Grace of Alturas; two sisters: Barbara Hopkins of Lake Placid & Emma Weeks of Mobile, AL; 18 grandchildren & 31 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Friday, November 28th, 6-8 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 29, 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
