Voncile Barnes

Voncile Barnes, age 85, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021 in Winter Haven. Born September 8, 1936 in Elba, AL, she was the daughter of the late Connie and Fannie Pearl (Willis) Creech. Voncile worked for many years as a Nurse's Assistant at Polk General Hospital and then as an Upholsterer and Homemaker. She was a member of Lake Garfield Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Holman Barnes, her son, Craig Barnes and two sisters: Evelyn Creech and Earnestine Spivey. She is survived by a loving family that includes her children: Robin Barnes, Michael Barnes and Romney Barnes all of Bartow, her siblings: Willie Ray Creech of Haines City, Betty Walker of Avon Park, Ruby Simmons of Bartow, V.J. Creech of Bartow, Delores Owens of Bartow, Debbie Ownes of Fitzgerlad, GA, and Douglas Creech of Winter Haven. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 22nd from 9:30am to 10:30 am at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. A graveside service will follow at 11:00am at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow.
