Virginia Sue Nance

Auburndale - Virginia Sue Nance, 76, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021 at her residence in Auburndale. She was born December 31, 1944 in Buchannan County, VA . A graduate of Bartow High School, Sue was a resident of Polk County most of her life. She was with the Polk School Board for over 32 years, first as an ESE teacher at John Cox Elementary School, then transferred to the main School Board Office in Bartow to work in the Facilities Department until retirement. She is preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Jennings Walker and two brothers: Jimmy Dale Jennings and Randy Jennings. She is survived by a loving family which includes three sons: Tommy Nix, wife Donna of Bonifay; Allen Locklear, wife Leah of Lakeland and Jonathan Locklear of Auburndale and two daughters: Tina Almaraz, husband Michael of Auburndale and Deborah Nix of Lakeland.. two brothers: John Jennings and Pete Jennings; two sisters Marilyn Davis and Lisa Walker. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Thomas, Jacob and Carly Nix, Donavan and Kenneth Smith Jr.; Alix and Masin Almaraz; Wyatt and Emily Locklear; two great grandchildren: Carson Godfry and Ava Rose Almaraz.
