Vicki Taylor Sweet

Mrs. Vicki Taylor Sweet, age 68, passed away from cancer Monday, July 12, 2010 at her home in Bartow. Born March 9, 1942 in Orlando, Mrs. Sweet was the daughter of the late Crawford and Audrey Taylor. She had been a resident of Bartow for the last 66 years. Mrs. Sweet was a Social Worker for the State of Florida. She worked at Gulf Coast Care with adoptions, and also taught Social Work, at U.S.F.. Mrs. Sweet was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bartow, the Florida Lighthouse Society, Chapter A.W. of the PEO Sisterhood, Bartow Art Guild, and a Sustainer of the Junior Service League of Bartow. She is survived by a loving family that includes her daughter Alison Ready and her husband Chris of Auburndale, her son Matthew Sweet of Bartow, her aunt Adele Bevis Durrance of Bartow, and her grandchildren; Jessalyn Ready, Andrew Ready, Ella Ready, Kaleb Sweet, and Gavin Sweet. The family will receive friends Monday, July 19th from 6pm to 8pm at the Durrance residence, 780 S. Wilson Ave. in Bartow. A memorial service will follow Tuesday, July 20th at 11:00am at the First United Methodist Church 310 S. Broadway in Bartow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Florida Methodist Childrens Home, the Florida Lighthouse Society, or a charity of your choice.
