Verna L. Smith Rhoden

Fort Meade- Verna L. Smith Rhoden, 83, passed away Friday, November 19, 2010 of heart failure at her residence in Fort Meade. Born April 16, 1927 in Brewster, Fl, Mrs. Rhoden has been a longtime resident of Fort Meade. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Meade; The Joy Club, and the women ministries of the Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh D. Rhoden. She is survived by a son: Jimmy Rhoden & wife Gladys of Tulsa, OK; 3 daughters: Sandra Jacobs & husband Max of Fort Meade; Leta Cone of Hahira, GA; Barbara Manley & husband Bob of Fort Meade; 2 brothers: Melburn Smith of Fort Meade & Wayne Smith of Indiantown, FL; 1 sister: Evelyn Atanasoff of Grafton, WV; 5 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Monday, November 22, 2010, 5-7 pm at McLean Funeral Home, Fort Meade, Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church, 307 East Broadway, Fort Meade with Rev.
