Verna Faye Gassett

Faye Gassett, age 82, passed away from cancer Friday, July 5, 2013 in Bartow. Born May 20, 1931 in Irwin County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Chalmus and Eva Walker Little. Faye was a longtime area resident. She was a member of Hebron Primitive Baptist Church in Nichols. Faye retired from GTE where she was a Business Service Representative. She is survived by her husband James Gassett, two brothers; Gene Little (Ruth) of Bartow, Rev. Jack Little (Janice) of Brandon, nieces and nephews; Delores Croy, Joyce Croy, Julie Rentz, Melodie Little, Brenda Little, Debra Heck, Connie Shyrock, Mike Little, David Little, Mark Little, Jack Little, Jr., Don Little, niece and special caregiver Patricia Garcia, and great-nephew and special caregiver Clifton "C.J." Garcia. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 10th from 10AM to 11AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 11:00AM.
