Thomas Evans Lewis

Thomas Evans Lewis, age 64, of Winter Haven, FL, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at his residence from leukemia. He was born Oct. 6, 1945, in Jacksonville, IL. His family moved to Bartow in 1960, and he graduated from Summerlin Institute in 1963. Tom served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Winter Haven. He worked in the agriculture industry as a irrigation engineering consultant. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Voigt Lewis, of Winter Haven; daughter, Lauren, & husband, Frank Hardy, of Stockbridge, GA; two sons, Robert Todd, & wife, Lori Lewis of Charlotte, NC and Evan & wife Nicole Lewis of Tallahassee, FL. Sister, Leah Lewis of Lakeland, FL and five grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street in Bartow, where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010. Funeral service will be at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow. Contributions can be made to St John's United Methodist Church, Alturas United Methodist Church or Good Shepherd Hospice.
