Thomas K. Chancey

Thomas K. Chancey, Jr, 67, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center of respiratory failure. Born January 15, 1942 in Estill, SC, Mr. Chancey has been a resident of Bartow 25 years, moving from Lakeland. He was a damage assessor & founding member of the Department of Homeland Security. He was formerly a permit engineer with the Department of Transportation. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Highland City. He enjoyed his family, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife: Linda N. Chancey, Bartow; 2 sons: Mike Chancey (Lori) & Rob Chancey (Laura) both of Lakeland. 4 daughters: Cheri Grant of Bartow; Alison Keenan (Brett) & Tara Yancey (Will) all of Lakeland; Amber Church (Doss) of Ashville, NC; mother: Ola Moye Chancey of Eastman, GA; brother: Doug Chancey (Connie) of Lutz; 17 grandchildren: Morgan, Katie, Zachary, Jacob, Jordan, Adam, Emily, Madison, Simon, Julia, Sadie, Jackson, Henry, Kayton, Josie, Luke & Ansley. Family will receive friends Thursday, April 16, 6-8 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow.
