Theodore W. "Ted" Tighe

Theodore W. "Ted" Tighe, 85, a resident of Bartow passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Bartow Regional Medical Center. Born March 29, 1926 in Yonkers, NY, Mr. Tighe has been a resident of Bartow for 20 years, moving from Vermont and residing during the summer months in East Otis, Mass. Mr. Tighe was a Ski Area Manager for Bolton Valley Ski Resort in Bolton Valley, VT for over 17 years. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army Air Corp. He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 yrs, Doris E. Tighe in 2003 and Sammie. He is survived by 3 sons: Scott Tighe of Colchester, VT; Mark Tighe and his wife Debbie of Waterbury Center, VT & Craig Tighe and his wife Christine of East Otis, Mass; a daughter: Karen Alderman of Colchester, Vt; one sister: Dorothy Howard of Ormond Beach, Fl & 7 grandchildren, Steven Corliss, Matthew and Taylor Tighe, Stephen and Michelle Tighe, Jessica and Kenneth Alderman. The family sends thanks to his neighbors for the friendships that he cherished and the daily visits on the porch that he really enjoyed. Funeral services will be held at a later date.
