Thelma "Mama" Russell , 80 of Bartow, FL died on Friday, April 15, 2011, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, FL. She was born Thursday, Sept. 4, 1930 in Athens, TN, Mama worked at Mike's Drive-In for 36 years. She was a member of Vineyard Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Russell. She is Survived by her four sons, John "Spanky" Russell of Davenport, FL, Clarence "Chub" Russell & wife Karla of Fort Meade, FL, Alex Russell & wife Tammy of Bartow, FL and Edford "Eddie" Russell & wife Janell of Bartow, FL, Two daughters, Charlene Kerley & husband John of Davenport, FL and Sharon Brown of Davenport, FL, Brother, Hezzie H.L. Gibson & wife Ruth of Espanola, NM and her sister, Bertha Maestas & husband Tommy of Espanola, NM. 17 grand children and 11 Great Grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, April 22, 2011 at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street in Bartow, FL. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Vineyard Church of God located at 490 W. Vine Street in Bartow, FL with the Rev. Herman E. Music officiating.
