Thelma Rae Palmer

Winter Haven - Thelma Rae Palmer, age 73, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Winter Haven Hospital of COPD. Born February 23, 1938 in Bartow, Mrs. Palmer was a lifetime resident of the area. She was a sectionizer for Dundee Citrus Growers, formerly with Bordo & Ben Hill Griffin Citrus. She was preceded in death by her husband: J.C. Palmer; parents: Harold & Minnie Bedell; brother: Ben Bedell & sister: Eva Mae Hutchins & 2 great grandchildren: Orion & Jaden Summerlin. Mrs. Palmer was survived by two daughters: Debbie Wells & husband Carl of Bartow & Kathy Palmer Dutton & husband Darrell, Crawfordville, FL; four sisters: Evelyn Brown & Margie Lanier, both of Frostproof; Junie Smith of Fort Meade & Jeanie Bedell of Lakeland; 7 grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandchild. Family will receive friends Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 6- 8 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Thursday, at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery, Wahneta
