Sylvia Stephens Anderson Watson

Sylvia Stephens Anderson Watson, age 86, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025. She was born January 24, 1939, in Fort Meade, FL to Herman & Mozelle Stephens. Sylvia was the Director for many years of the Fort Meade Child Development Center, where she considered her work with children a calling more than a job. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Fort Meade, but also attended First Christian Church of Wauchula. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Harley E. Anderson and George C. Watson, son Stephen Gordon Anderson, brother John A. Stephens and nephew Mark Farris Stephens. Sylvia is survived by her sister Nancy Stephens of Frankfort, KY, brother Phillip Stephens (Jeanne) of Archer, FL, nieces Emma Stephens of Clarksville, TN, & Rachel Stephens (Pijus Valenkinas) of Archer, FL, nephews John Stephens (Allison) of Fort Meade and Ronald Davis (Ashlee) of Sarasota, sister-in-law Gayle Farris Stephens of Fort Meade and her bonus family Tana Watson Davis (Tim), Matt Davis, Zach Davis, Tamara Watson Sharp (David), Andrew Sharp, Jason Watson and Cole Watson. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at McLean Funeral Home in Fort Meade. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at McLean Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Meade.
