Syble Snell Brawner

Syble Snell Brawner died in Concord, North Carolina on Wednesday, February 19 at the age of 80. A native Floridian born in Alturas, Syble was the valedictorian and treasurer of the Class of 1951 at Bartow High School, and graduated cum laude from Florida State University. She taught elementary school in Pinellas County before retiring. Syble was the daughter of Millard and Mary Snell of Homeland. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Jack Brawner of Concord, NC, her son Jack and daughter-in-law Jacquie Brawner of Madeira Beach, daughter Becky Brawner of Lorton, VA, daughter and son-in-law Cindy Brawner Nagel and Mark Nagel of Harrisburg, NC, and grandchildren Keith and Kevin Brawner and Emily and Adam Nagel. She also is survived by her sister Jeanette Snell Green and brothers Ernest and Allen Snell, as well as many Snell cousins residing throughout Polk County. Services will be held on Sunday, March 2nd at 2PM at the Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 E. Main Street, Bartow, FL.
