Susie Marie Childress Lloyd

Fort Meade - Susie Marie Childress Lloyd, 96, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017. Susie was born September 26, 1921 to Layfayette and Mattie Childress in Mount Olive, Arkansas. The Childress family moved to Fort Meade, FL in 1930. Susie was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of God in Fort Meade. She served as a Sunday School teacher, was a member of the Women of the Church of God and served as President and Secretary and was a member of the "Busy Bees". She was preceded in death by her husband John Henry Lloyd, her parents and her brothers Harold Childress, Doyle Childress, Dudley Childress, Ralph Childress and Layfayette Childress, Jr. She was also preceded by her sisters Annie Keller, Delia Twiss and Louise Twiss. She is survived by her daughters Marie Khamis and husband Tom of Las Vegas , NV, Carol Grimes and husband Jim of Fort Meade, FL and Joy Green and husband Dennis of Bartow, FL; grandchildren Cathy Peper, Linda Coleman, Karoline Khamis and Courtney Green; and great grandchildren Amanda Peper, Corey Peper, Caleb Coleman, Zack Green and Jacob Fisher. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at McLean Funeral Home in Fort Meade, FL. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at McLean Funeral Home. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Meade, FL.
