Shirley Patterson

Shirley Wherrett Patterson, 65, of Bartow, FL died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, in Lakeland, FL of cancer. A native of Bartow and former resident of, Battlecreek MI, Mobile, AL & Ashville, NC, Mrs Patterson returned to Bartow in 1991. She was a member of the Bartow First United Methodist Church, serving as bookkeeper, member of the Board of Church Council; choir member & soloist for several yrs. She was a member of the Polk County Historical Society; Bartow Historical Society; & friends of the Bartow Public Library. She was a member of the Summerlin Institute Class of 1960. She is preceded in death by her parents: Gator & Fannie Patterson. She is survived by her son: Michael Wherrett of Elberta, Ala; Former husband: Cork Wherrett, Jr of Asheville, NC; father -in-law: Cork Wherrett, Sr, Battlecreek, MI; sister-in-law: Judy Wherrett, Concord, CA, A neice, nephew & several cousins & close friends. A memorial service will be held, Saturday June 23, at 10:00 AM at the Bartow First United Methodist Church, 455 S. Broadway, Bartow with a reception following at the church.
