Shirley H. Johnson, age 91, entered into eternity with God on Friday, November 26, 2021. Born on April 10, 1930 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Willard J. Hoffman and Marquerite Mills Hoffman. Shirley was a long time resident of Bartow moving from Baltimore in 1957 and a longtime member of the Bartow Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church where she served as Woman of the Church treasurer and a member of the Women’s ministry for many years. She was a sustaining member of the Bartow Junior Service League and the Polk General Hospital as an Auxiliary Volunteer “candy striper”, and graciously engaged in selfless service toward others throughout her life. Shirley is proceeded in death by her husband of 55 years, Benjamin Wallace Johnson, who was the “love of her life”. Due to Ben’s engineering duties in New Delhi , the Johnson family lived in Bombay, India and Shirley traveled extensively with him globally. Mrs. Johnson is survived by a loving family including her daughter Jennifer J. Wolff, husband Rod and her son, Mark Alan Johnson and his wife, Kim, of Highland City and a grandson Jamie Wolff of Columbia, SC. Family will receive friends on Monday November 29, 2021 at the Bartow Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 205 E. Stanford St, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Church Service Center, 495 E. Summerlin St, Bartow, Women’s Care Center, 490 E. Boulevard St, Bartow, Brookdale Highlands, 4250 Lakeland Highlands Road, Lakeland, Florida 33813, or Savannah Court, 290 N. Idlewood Avenue, Bartow.
