Shirley Lee Holder, age 74, died of heart failure at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale and went to be with the Lord on June 2, 2021, with her family by her side. Shirley was a homemaker and valued time with her family above all else. She felt blessed to have children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with whom she shared her unconditional love and affection. She enjoyed cooking for her family and reading. She attended the Wildwood Baptist Church of Bartow. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents David L. and Minnie M. Denham, husband and love her life Laverne Holder, son-in-law David Nichols, and siblings Howard Denham, Clifford Denham, David Denham, Carrie B. Smith, and Edna Henry. She is survived by her children Wendy Hiers (Brad), Ed Holder (Cammie), and Sherry Nichols, grandchildren Bradley Hiers (Amanda), Danielle Peacock (Ricky), Ashley Fallin (Mike), and Jacob Nichols, and five great-grandchildren Bayli, Braylyn, Hannah Grace, Harrison, and Miller. She is also survived by her brother Robert Denham. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Good Shepherd Hospice and her caregiver Cathy Young Whistin for the amazing care, support, and encouragement they provided. A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 8 at 10:00 at the Homeland Cemetery in Homeland with Dr. Stephen Ahrens officiating. Memorials can be made to Good Shepherd Hospice.
