Sharon A. Childers

Sharon A. Childers, age 76, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 in Bartow. Born November 24, 1945 in Tampa and raised in Trilby, she was the daughter of the late Waldo C. Pierce and Clara V. (Prine) Pierce. Sharon was a Baptist in faith whose love for GOD shown through in everything she did. Her great joy was working with children and helping guide them, anywhere she went children gravitated to her which made her a perfect fit as she worked as a Character Education Teacher for the Polk County School Board. Sharon also worked as a Deputy City Clerk for the City of Bartow. She is survived by a loving family that includes her husband of 53 years, Everett Childers of Bartow, her son Tracy Childers (Katherine) of Zephyrhills, Chandra Stewart (Timothy) of Lakeland and Everett Paul Childers II (Sandy) of Bartow. She also leaves behind her brothers: Jackie Pierce of Dade City, Mitchell Pierce of Lakeland along with eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 3, 2022 from 10am to 11am at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm at Trilby Cemetery in Dade City.
