Sandra Hancock Mitchell, age 87, passed away December 19, 2025. She was born January 18, 1938 to Woodrow W. Sr. and Maxine Russell Hancock. Sandra graduated from Fort Meade, FL, High School and received a B.S. degree in Business from Florida State University.
Sandra was employed with J. K. Stuart in Bartow, FL, for 65 years. In 2003 she was appointed as a manager for J. K. Stuart Properties, LLC until she retired in June 2025.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lorry Mitchell and brother Woodrow "Woody" Hancock, Jr. She is survived by her sister Karen Hancock of Leland, NC.
She is survived by her deceased husband Lorry's extended family, son Larry Mitchell of Houston, TX, daughter Shirley Summers & husband Mike of Fort Meade, FL, two grandchildren Ryan Summers and Laura Nance and two great grandsons Nathan Summers and Robbie Anderson.
Graveside service 10:00 am, Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Meade, FL with Pastor Kenny Slay officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Fort Meade Historical Society, PO Box 1021, Fort Meade, FL 33841.
