Sandra Joann "Jo" Helms

Sandra JoAnn "Jo" Helms, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in Lakeland. Born June 8, 1947 in Opp, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm Gettis and Trudie Beatrice (Blocker) Helms. Jo worked as an administrator in the engineering industry for many years. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers: David Helms and Gene Helms. Ms. Helms is survived by two sisters: Jane Lewis (Rick) of Lithia and Eloise Casey of Lawrenceville, GA. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 25th from 10am to 11am at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, Lakeland (lifepathhospice.chaptershealth.org and reference Sandra (Jo) Helms).
