Ruth L. Roberts

Ruth Linda Roberts, 90, of Bartow, died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Water's Edge Assisted Living Center, Lake Wales.Born November 12, 1926, in Royster (Community South of Bartow), Florida, she was a lifelong resident. Ruth was a member of First Baptist Church, Bartow. In her younger years, she taught young children in Sunday school. She was employed at Lake Wales Hospital as a member of the Medical Records Department for over thirty years, retiring at age 65. Ruth lived in her home in Bartow for many years. She loved her family, friends and church. Survivors are her nephew, Thomas (Tom) C. Hackle, Sr. and wife, Yvonne of Indian Lake Estates; great nephew, Thomas C. Hackle, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO; great nieces, Daryl Baron of Winter Haven and Joell Ward of Cashiers, NC. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, with visitation at 10:00 am and funeral at 11:00 am at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Reverend Frank Brooks officiated. Interment followed in Wildwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Homebound Ministry at First Baptist Church, 410 East Church Street, Bartow, FL 33830.
