Alturas- Ruth Odowski, 89, died Friday, January 23, 2009, at Savannah Court in Bartow of cancer. Born Dec 13, 1919 in Gardener, FL, Mrs. Odowski has been a resident of the Alturas area for 68 yrs. She attended the Saint Thomas Catholic Church, Bartow. She was preceded in death by her husband: Narcys A. Odowski. She is survived by her daughters: Judith K. Novak of Lakeland; Ellie & Husband Garry Miles of Sarasota; son: David Odowski of Gainesville; six grandchildren: Lorraine & husband Ron Turner of Lakeland; Alison & husband John Skalberg of Tampa; Trevor Gandy-Meeks of Vancouver, WA; Shane Odowski of Bartow; Greg Miles of Sarasota & Colby Odowski of Gainesville; 2 nephews: Ron & wife Diane Odoski of Lake Wales & James & wife Shirley Fielder of Clewiston. Family will receive friends Monday, Jan 26, 6-8 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 am at Saint Thomas Catholic Church in Bartow.
