Royal "Roy" Nathaniel Hart, Age 81, passed away on December 19, 2024, in Bartow, Florida. Born to Percival Star Hart and Dorothy Felton, Roy was a beloved member of his community. A devoted Christian, Roy was an active member of Lake Ruth Baptist Church, where he found comfort and fellowship. Roy proudly served his country as a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from Bath Iron Works, where he dedicated many years to his craft. Known for his love of outdoors, Roy was an avid golfer and fisherman. His spirit of adventure and enthusiasm for life were reflected in his hobbies, bringing joy to those around him. Those who knew Roy will fondly remember the mischievous sparkle in his eye and his ability to bring a smile to any room. Roy was a cherished uncle, beloved by many nieces and nephews, who regarded him as their favorite. His warmth, humor, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his wife, Vila Hart of Bartow, FL; daughters Arlene Hart (Michael Dick), Darlene Lombardo (Glenn) Milford, CT and Lisa Waters (Mark) Ormond Beach, FL; brothers David (Elizabeth) of Crawfordsville, IN, and Philip (Mary) of Richmond, ME; as well as six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Roy was predeceased by his sister, Jean Trott; his brothers Robert, John and Paul and grandson Paul Gaites Jr. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Lake Ruth Baptist Church.
