Roy Eugene Richardson

Roy Eugene Richardson, age 63, died Thursday July 31, 2008 at his home in Bartow. Born October 29, 1944 in Flint, MI., Mr. Richardson was a longtime area resident. He retired from Polk County after 30 years of service as a Code Enforcement Officer. Mr. Richardson was a member and Past Master of the Masonic Lodge #229 and the Eastern Star. He also was a member of the United Auto Workers in Michigan and the Florida Association of Code Enforcement. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Marion K. Richardson. He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife Geri of Bartow, two sons; Roy, Jr. and wife Wendi of Lakeland, Paul Michael of Bartow, and a step daughter Chrissy April of Lakeland. He also leaves behind a brother Virgil James Richardson and wife Sally of Davison, MI, a sister RaeAnna Cross and husband Carl of Ypsilanti, MI, and five grandchildren; Roy III "Trey", Regan Nicole, Paul Michael II, KayDee Rae, and Alexandria Nicole "Alleycat". Services for Mr. Richardson will be Tuesday August 5th at 6:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home 650 East Main Street in Bartow.
