Roy Dan "Rd" Mitchell

Bartow - Roy Dan "RD" Mitchell, 64, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Roy Dan was born March 30, 1952 in Lakeland, FL. He was a graduate of Montverde Academy. He was a Owner/Operator of Orangefield Citrus Inc., Interior Citrus Marketing and Double "R" Brangus. He was a member of the Bartow ARP Church. Lifetime member of the NRA, University of Florida Booster and a avid supporter of the Florida Sheriffs Youth Villa Classic Golf Tournament. Roy Dan was preceded in death by his daughter, Stevee Jo; father, W.B. "Preacher" Mitchell; mother, Betty Sue Mitchell and three brothers, Jerry, Berry and Scott Mitchell. He was survived by his wife, Pamela Mitchell; daughter, Kristine Mitchell and son-in-law, Matt McFarlane; son, Roy D. "Gator" Mitchell, II; grandson, Bryce Mitchell; granddaughter, Ava Mitchell; step son, Roy Perdue (Leslie); sister, Beverly Sue Mitchell. Family will receive friends Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 5 to 7 pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday, September 2, 2016 at Bartow First Assembly of God, 915 S. Broadway Ave. Interment will be held at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow, FL.
