Rodney Milton Turner

Lake Wales - Rodney Turner, age 56, passed away September 28, 2020 at Advent Lake Wales in Lake Wales. Rodney was born February 12, 1964 in Winter Haven. He was a Senior Coordinator for the Department of Construction Services Facilities & Operations for the Polk County School Board for over 29 years. He had a large part in the design of many buildings in Bartow and Lakeland and many schools in the Polk County Area. He had a love for camping, golfing, working in the yard and having a green thumb. He was a big fan of Elvis and the Dolphins. His ability to remember things is something that will be missed. He was predeceased by his father Edward Turner & half-sister Gayle Wright. He is survived by his wife Diana Turner, sons Mitchell Turner & Steven Turner, brothers Thurston Turner & Vince Turner, stepchildren Chris Gunkel, Johnny Gunkel & Krista Lee, half-sister Kathy Jones, his mother Linda Hall, grandchildren Teri River Lee & Owen Wayne Gunkel. Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 1:00 -2:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home Bartow. A Memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM at Whidden- McLean Funeral Home.
