Rodney D. Holt

Lakeland - Rodney D. Holt, age 73, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Born February 29, 1948 in Plant City, FL., to Harvey Carlton Holt and Freida Harnage Holt. Rodney was a longtime resident of Lakeland. He was an Instrument Technician for Lakeland Electric for many years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and later served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was a member of the Lakeland Elks Lodge for many years. He enjoyed playing darts, golfing, and fishing. Music was his passion and he was an amazing guitarist and singer. He shared a very special bond with his great granddaughter, Taylor and two great nieces, Melaina & Mckenna, whom he loved spending time with. He was survived by a loving family including his daughter Robin Wooten ( Ronnie) of Thonotosassa, FL., a sister: Mary K. Kitzmiller of Lutz, FL., a brother: Harvey F. Holt, Lakeland, FL., two granddaughters: Alyson Hickox (Michael) & Ronni Wooten, two great grandchildren: Taylor Danylak & Weston Hickox, niece: Lisa Rempert (Chris), nephew: Scott Kitzmiller, and two very special great nieces: Melaina and Mckenna. And several other great nieces & nephews and cousins that he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his father: Harvey Carlton Holt, mother: Freida Harnage Holt, a brother: Harold Carlton Holt, and a brother-in-law: Robert Bedford Kitzmiller. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow, FL. A celebration of life service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at a later date with honors at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
