Bartow, FL - Robert F. Wernett, age 94, passed away January 23, 2021 at Bartow Regional Medical Center in Bartow, Florida. Born on June 2, 1926 in Albrightsville, PA, the son of the late Paul and Anna “Hazel” (Metzger) Wernett. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Paul, Ralph and Harry Wernett and a sister Catherine DeHaven. After serving in World War II and receiving the World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal-Japan he worked as a meat cutter at George's Foodliner and Shop Rite for over 40 years. He loved his family and was a devoted family man. Robert enjoyed swimming in his pool, working in the barn and around the yard. One of his most enjoyable hobbies was making homemade apple cider. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Bartow FL. He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife June Wernett of Bartow, FL, daughters Patricia Bankos of Winter Haven, FL, Connie Benninger of Allentown, PA, Roseann Yelles, and her husband Dean, of Northampton, PA, sisters Janet Smith of Kunkletown, PA, Margaret "Peg" Laury of Lehighton, PA, Shirley Leinthall, and her husband Charles, of Summit Hill, PA, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
