Robert E. Stovall, Jr.

Mr. Robert E. Stovall, Jr., age 85, passed away from cancer Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at home in Bartow. Mr. Stovall was born November 23, 1925 in Stella, Tennessee. He was a longtime resident of Polk County. He retired from Swift in Company in Bartow where he worked as a Chemist. Mr. Stovall was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Hissem D.E.. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Bartow and the American Legion Post #3 in Bartow. Mr. Stovall is preceded in death by his wife Bea Stovall and son Tommy Stovall. He is survived by a loving family that includes a son Danny L. Stovall (Charlene) of Lakeland, a daughter Julie D Kicklighter (Leslie) of Arcadia, 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow where the family will receive friends Thursday, Dec. 30th from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral services will follow Friday, Dec. 31st at 2:00pm at the funeral home chapel.
