Robert A. Randall

Mr. Robert A. "Bob" Randall 85 of Bartow, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 1, 2008 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center from Heart Failure. A native and lifelong resident of Bartow he worked as a Superintendent in the Construction Industry for many years. Bob was a member of the Bartow Church of God and a WWII Navy Veteran serving on the USS Destroyer John Hood as a 1st Class Torpedoman. Bob also was a 50 year member of the Pipefitters Local #624; the American Legion; the Tuscan Lodge #6, Bartow; York Rite Bodies, Knight Templar, Bartow and a 32nd Degree Mason Valley of Tampa, Orient of Florida. A loving husband , father and grandfather he will be dearly missed. Bob was preceded in death by his parents William and Ethel Randall and two brothers Fred and Terry Randall. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Shirley Devane Randall of Bartow; daughter Anita Bowen and husband Andy of Plant City; 3 sons Steven Randall and wife Gina of Seffner; John Randall of Bartow and David Randall and wife Sherry of Gilbertsville, KY; 2 sisters Mary Courson and Mila Martin both of Bartow; 5 grandchildren Robert "Henry" Larkin, Stephanie, Bridget, Lesley and Cody Randall; 2 great grandchildren Ashley and Robert Henry Larkin. A visitation will be held Friday Dec. 5, 2008 from 6-8pm at the Whidden-McLean Funeral Home Chapel, Bartow and Funeral services will follow on Saturday; 11am at The Bartow Church of God 1460 E. Stuart St. Bartow, with the Rev. Elwood F. Kern officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Ft. Meade. For those who wish donations may be made to The Bartow Church of God Building Fund.
