Robert E. "Bob" Pittenger

Robert E. "Bob" Pittenger, age 87, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at home of kidney failure. Born December 22, 1925 in Selma, IN, Mr. Pittenger was a resident of Bartow since 1957. He was a WW II Army Veteran. He was a supervisor for Agrico Chemicals of Bartow for many years. He attended the Bartow First United Methodist Church and the Golden Age Club. Mr. Pittenger is survived by his wife of 69 years, Shirley Pittenger; two daughters: Linda Rahmatian & husband Dr. Rahmatian of Sari, Iran; & Jan Essary & husband Patrick of Lakeland; 4 grandchildren: Ben Southard, Deanna Pavlou, Chris Milligan & Scott Southard & 9 great grandchildren: John, Caleb, Camden, Hunter, Tristen, Jake, Andrew, Sydney & Luke. Family will receive friends Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell at a later date.
