Robert Leroy Murray

Robert Leroy Murray, born July 16, 1949 Mansfield Ohio, and grew up in Mansfield near Columbus.  After high school Bob joined the Air Force and served 2 tours in Vietnam as a Tail Gunner in a B-42, Bob was in the Air Force for 9 years.  After Vietnam war ended, Bob continued in the military as a jet mechanic and electronics technician.  After returning home, Bob worked in car dealerships as a mechanic, and also in boat dealerships and boatyards, and become certified in boat mechanics.  Bob had a real love for boats and building and repairing them.  Bob lived in Winter Haven and Bartow over the last 30 years. Bob’s last place of employment was approximately 30 years, working at Harley Boat Corporation, as a boat mechanic and engine and electrical installer, and eventually as chief mechanic.  Bob was a lead employee and a supervisor and mechanic at Harley Boats.  Bob died Saturday evening August 3rd 2019, of liver cancer, congestive heart failure, and kidney failure, at Life Care Center in Winter Haven.  Bob is survived by a son in Ohio.  A small service will be held, soon to be Condolences at WhiddenMcLeanfuneralhome.com
