Robert J. Knapek

Robert J. "Bob" Knapek, age 68, passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 in Auburndale. Born April 24, 1950 in Bradenton, FL, he was the son of the late Robert and Rita Knapek. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Vietnam War. Bob worked as a Parts Manager for Ford, Lincoln, Mercury for many years. He enjoyed playing softball, bowling, fishing and golf. Along with his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his son Joey Knapek in 2003. Bob is survived by a loving family that includes his wife of 41 years, JoAnn Knapek, his daughter Amanda Bracknell (Caleb) all of Winter Haven, his siblings: Rick Knapek of Sarasota, Carol Sandoval (Vic) of Johnstown, PA, Michele Giger (Randy) of Winter Haven and Mike Knapek (Nancy) also of Winter Haven, He also leaves behind his two grandchildren: Kayden and Levi, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 18th at 2:00pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale.
