Robbie E. Hooks

Robert E. "Robbie" Hooks 57 of Bartow passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013 from cancer at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Bartow and has worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator in the phosphate mining industry since he was eighteen years of age. Robbie loved the outdoors and was a avid hunter and fisherman. A dedicated family man Robbie was a hard worker and a loving husband, father and grandfather he will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife of twenty years Debbie Hooks of Bartow. Two sons Robert Hooks and wife Amanda of Highland City. Doug Hooks of Bartow and Melissa Hooks of Bartow. Three brothers Quentin Hooks and wife Janette of Eagle Lake. Wayne Hooks of Arcadia and Glenn Hooks. One sisiter Margie Zipperer and husband Harvey of Soperton, GA. Three grandchildren Natalie Hooks, Brianna Hooks and Waylon Hooks. A visitation will be held Thursday, Aug 29th from 5-8pm at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow. Funeral services will follow on Friday at 10 am at the Funeral Home. Burial in Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the the American Cancer Society at cancer.org.
