Richard Lamar Sheffield

Richard Lamar Sheffield, age 64, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in Gainesville, FL. Born September 14, 1953 in Winter Haven, he was the son of the late Lloyd B. Sheffield and JoAnn Norris Chancey of Bartow. Mr. Sheffield was a longtime employee of Moretrench Environmental Service, where he was a heavy equipment operator. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a Baptist. He is survived by a loving family that includes his children: Cheryl Sheffield of Lakeland, Kim Sheffield of Bartow, Ian David Sheffield (Christina) stationed in Germany, his mother JoAnn Chancey of Bartow, his former spouse Linda Sheffield of Bartow, his siblings: Ginny Hamby (Frank) of Lakeland, Dale Sheffield (Rebecca) of Dahlonega, GA, and his two grandchildren: Jaelin and Bastian. A celebration of his life service will be held Saturday, January 27th at 10:00am at the First Presbyterian Church of Bartow, 355 S. Florida Ave. in Bartow.
