Rev. Dr. Ronald D. Doolittle, Sr.

Lakeland – Rev. Dr. Ronald D. Doolittle, Sr., age 91, passed away on May 11, 2026, at Lakeland Regional Health and Medical Center in Lakeland. He was born on March 12, 1935, in Kalamazoo, MI to Ilow Doolittle and Marguerite (Thomas) Evans. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He dedicated his life to ministry, serving as a minister in the Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed golfing, hiking, spending time in the mountains, and music. He also found joy in giving back to his community through his church work and by serving as a poll worker in Polk County. He was preceded in death by his son David Doolittle, grandson Trey Doolittle, brothers Gerald Doolittle & James Doolittle, and sisters Jane Meadows & Arlene Wheelan. He is survived by his wife Rita Doolittle of Lakeland, son Jeffery Doolittle (Kelly) of Zeeland , MI, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM at The Estates at Carpenters 1001 Carpenters Way Lakeland, FL 33809. A Fellowship and Gathering with the Family will be held Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 1:30 PM at High Pointe Community Church 2975 76th St SW Byron Center, MI 49315.
