Rev. A.D. Albritton, age 87, of Fort Meade, FL, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at his Residence in Fort Meade, FL. A.D. was born and lived his entire life in Fort Meade. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II on the U.S.S. Bennington CV20. He was part of the Battle of Leyte. A.D. was a builder and loved working with his hands. But his greatest vocation was sharing his love for his Savior Jesus Christ. A.D. was faithful in sharing the gospel even in his final days. He was preceded in death by his parents David & Lillian (Parrish) Albritton. Two Brothers; Frank M. Albritton and John Gavin "Doc" Albritton. Six Sisters; Lessie E. Mann, Rose N. Compton, Catherine L. "Kitty" McPherson, Myra L. Sheffield, Lillian Clarice Griffin and Joan M. Southwell. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mrs. Vivian Lessie (McDuffie) Albritton of Fort Meade. One Daughter, Sue Knight of Arcadia. Five Sons, Nathan (Donna) Roberson of Bartow, John (Suzannah) Albritton of Bartow, Larry Albritton of Fort Meade, Ted (Dorothy) Albritton of Bartow and Frank (Angie) Albritton of Fort Meade. Twenty-two Grandchildren, Twenty-seven Great Grandchildren and Sister; Edna Maxwell of Georgia. Arrangements are being handled by McLean Funeral Home, 306 East Broadway in Fort Meade, FL, where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am Monday, May 10, 2010. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am, May 10, 2010 at McLean Funeral Home. Burial in Bethlehem Cemetery.
