Reba Lee Allen

Reba Lee Allen 87 passed away Nov. 4, 2010 of respiratory failure. Born April 6, 1923 in Alamo, GA to Marie and A.P. Smith. She married Grady Lee Allen in 1943, and they moved to Bartow in 1946. Reba was primarily a homemaker, but was employed several years at Jessalyn's Gift Shop & Till Office Equipment in Bartow. Her joy was working with young women at the bridal registry. She was past member of Zonta Club International, a long time past member of First Baptist Church in Bartow, and in the last few years a beloved member of Lake Ruth Baptist Church in Bartow. Having grown up in a large, close knit family, she loved sharing time and food with family and friends.Reba was preceded in death by her parents, husband Grady, daughter Virginia Ann "Jennie" Smoleroff (Steve), brothers Beverly, Doug, Milton, and Fred Smith, and sister Alma Sellers (J.B). She is survived by son Gary Allen (Linda), daughter Anita Crutchfield (Jim), sister-in-law Lou Smith, brother-in-law J.B Sellers, grandsons Mark Allen, Chad Allen, Taylor Smoleroff, Matthew Crutchfield, grand daughter Jessica Smoleroff, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors Saturday Nov. 6 from 2-3:00 PM at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street in Bartow. Service will follow at 3:00 PM, with interment at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow. Memorial contributions may be made to Lake Ruth Baptist Church 800 W.
