Randy R. Peterson, Jr.

Bartow - John Randolph “Randy” Peterson, Jr., age 72, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale. Born May 10, 1949, in Asheville, North Carolina, son of John R. Peterson, Sr. and Mary Virginia Duncan Peterson. Randy was a longtime resident of Bartow. He was a graduate of Summerlin Institute, class of 1967, and graduate of University of Florida, class of 1971. He was, along with his wife Ruth, owner of Peterson Cleaners for many years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bartow. He is survived by a loving family, including his wife of 46 years, Ruth M. Peterson of Bartow; brother, Jim Peterson (Bobbie), St. Simons Island, GA; sister, Lynne Spears (Doyle), Atlanta, GA; daughter, Kathy Dowell (Timmy) of Rockwell, NC; son, Joseph Blanton (Shannon) of Rockwell, NC; four granddaughters: Samantha Smart (Matthew), Charli Burkhammer (Nate), Racheal Blanton, Camry Blanton, and two great-grandchildren: Adeline and Violet. Family will receive friends Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 355 S. Florida Ave., Bartow. A Memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM at the church.
